Healthy Ecosystem
Stronger Communities
A resilient and environmentally sustainable Somalia where communities, ecosystems and livelihoods thrive.
To protect Somalia's environment, restore degraded ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities through locally led, innovative and sustainable solutions.
Drought, flooding, desertification, land degradation, pollution and ecosystem loss affect food security, water availability, health, livelihoods and community stability. These challenges require integrated, long-term and locally led solutions.

Reduced water availability and increased vulnerability.

Damage to homes, infrastructure and livelihoods.

Loss of vegetation and degraded productive land.

Risks to environmental quality and public health.

Threats to biodiversity and vital natural resources.

Impacts on food security, water access, health and community stability.
Women and young people have an important role to play in building a resilient and environmentally sustainable Somalia.
Inclusion is more than representation. It is meaningful participation.
No single organization can address Somalia's environmental challenges alone. We work with government, communities, civil society, development partners, UN agencies, academia and the private sector.
